The Mission of the St. John's New To You Resale Shop is:

• To supply clothing and household items to the community at affordable prices.
• To offer an opportunity to earn income through a consignment account.
• To use the proceeds to support local missions of the church and community.
• To provide the community (with volunteer support) an inviting, hospitable atmosphere in which to shop.    

The operation of the New To You Resale Shop includes:

• Resale Shop Hours - Open Mon-Fri 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday Evenings 6:30-8:30 pm and Sat. 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.  If the Royal Oak schools close for a "Snow Day" then the New To You Resale Shop will also be closed.
• Donations - During normal business hours donations are accepted.
• Low Prices - For a sample of the prices visit the "Items for Sale" web page.
• Half Price Sales - After 2 months on the sales floor, the price of an item is reduced by 50%. 
• Cash Sales Only - The Resale Shop only accepts cash - no checks, debit cards, credit cards or livestock in exchange. 
• All Sales Final - All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.
• End of Year Bargains - During the last three days of the last week of June you will find deep discounts before the shop closes for the summer (i.e., until Labor Day).
• Consignments - Consignments are by appointment only.  
• Start with New Stock in Fall - The shop starts September with a new complement of merchandise each year.
• Resale Shop Closes for Summer & Holidays - The shop is open from the day after Labor Day (Sept. 8, 2009) through the last Friday in June (June 25, 2010). The shop is closed July and August and on the following holidays in 2009-10:
  • Thanksgiving Day - Thur, Nov 26th, 2009.
  • Christmas Day thru New Year's Day - Fri. Dec. 24, 2009, thru Fri. Jan 1, 2010. 
  • Martin Luther King Day - Mon. Jan. 18th, 2010.
  • Washington's Birthday - Mon. Feb. 15th, 2010. (previously President's Day).
  • Easter - Fri. April 2 thru Mon. April 5th, 2010.
  • Memorial Day Weekend - Sat. May 29 thru Mon. May 31, 2010.
• Volunteer Staff - People in St. John's and other churches enjoy volunteering at the shop once a week in morning, afternoon, evening or Saturday shifts.
